Packaging

We take potency seriously.

Exposure to light gradually weakens skincare ingredients, which can take the effect out of a formula before you've finished it. Crème du Nil comes in a 50ml recyclable glass jar that looks almost black but is actually deep violet. It filters out damaging visible light, so every application performs as well as the first.

Subscriptions include a complimentary LXMI Copper Wand with the first order; one-time orders can add one at checkout.

FAQs

Questions,
answered.

Still curious? Write to us at hello@lxmi.com

Does this clog pores?

Crème du Nil is non-comedogenic. We added hibiscus to gently exfoliate and refine your pores without irritating your skin. The cream is rich in hydration but lightweight in feel, designed to nourish without clogging pores.

How do I use it?

Massage a blueberry-sized dollop onto a cleansed face and neck using gentle, upward strokes. Crème du Nil works great layered over a serum or face oil as the final step in your routine (especially for normal, combination or oily skin, or during warmer months).

For dry skin, during winter, or for an overnight moisture boost, apply Crème du Nil first and finish with a pea-sized amount of Pure Nilotica Melt. Bundle both in the AM/PM Kit to save.

Which skin types is it for?
  • Normal
  • Dry
  • Sensitive
What is it a solution for?
  • Dryness
  • Enlarged pores
  • Lackluster skin
  • Uneven texture
What is it formulated without?

No parabens, sulfates, phthalates, gluten, petrochemicals, triclosan, synthetic fragrances or synthetic dyes. We developed the formula specifically for people who have issues with most cosmetic formulas.

What does it smell like?

A natural ginger oolong scent, without synthetics or fillers. Because it's used at just 0.5% strength (vs. around 5% common in conventional beauty), the scent is subtle and doesn't linger after application. We don't use masking agents, so you'll also notice some grounding, earthy notes of the botanical base.

Current labeling regulations require us to list it simply as "fragrance," despite its natural origin.

Is your squalane animal or plant-derived?

Plant-derived, from olives. Crème du Nil is a vegan formulation.

How do I use the Copper Wand that comes with it?

Use the flat, black end to hygienically scoop product from the jar, keeping your skincare free from contamination. Then glide the rounded copper tip over your face in upward, outward strokes to massage the product in. It helps boost circulation, depuff and promote absorption, with a cooling, calming effect.

Bonus tip: store it in the fridge or dip the copper tip in ice water for an extra cooling effect.

What are the ingredients?

Water (Aqua), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Nilotica) Butter, Glycerin, Squalane, Octyldodecyl Olivate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Candililla Jojoba/Rice Bran Polyglyceryl-3 Esters, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Hibiscus Sabdariffa (Hibiscus) Hydrosol Water, Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Hydrosol Water, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Gluconolactone, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Stearoyl Lactylate, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance* (*Natural)

What does social impact mean?

A social impact brand differs from a regular business, whose primary focus is profit. Like a non-profit, the main driver for an impact brand is to make a difference — but it sustains itself through the products or services it sells (not donations).

LXMI's impact mission centers around uplifting marginalized women & Indigenous communities and protecting biodiversity through ethical + regenerative ingredient harvesting. For us, doing good isn't an add-on or an afterthought to doing business — it's the foundation.
