Determined to find and provide innovative ways for the modern consumer to do good on a deeper level, we have partnered with environmental non-profit Conservation International and the Trio Tribe to protect the sensitive region of South Suriname through the sustainable, regenerative harvesting of Tuhka nuts, one of the main ingredients in the LXMI Nourishing Body Oil.
Sourced directly from the Alalapadu community of Suriname in the Amazon, the project enables the tribe, through the backing of Conservation International, to protect 235,000 hectares of pristine Amazon rainforest, including wildlife. The area covers approximately 132.7 million trees, which annually absorbs 2.9 million metric tons of carbon dioxide. That equals the greenhouse emissions from 628,699 passenger cars per year! The Nourishing Body Oil is quick-absorbing — more decadent than a lotion, but not greasy.
With moisturizing Tuhka, dry-touch Daikon Radish oil, and lightweight Camellia oil, it sinks in beautifully.
The product’s botanical oils have an earthy, grounded aroma, with a well-balanced hint of crisp, alluring Yuzu and soft, subtle Vanilla (not sweet or synthetic). The scent doesn’t linger or overpowers, but is bright, fresh, and energizing.
Massage a small amount of the Nourishing Body Oil onto skin and allow to absorb for a couple of minutes. For dry skin or for an extra soft effect, massage onto damp skin after showering.
A few drops can also be added to your bath, or applied as needed to dry areas like elbows, knees, and cuticles.
